Champion of Champions & Veteran of Veterans gala was held on 30th of January 2010 in Fur Center, Vantaa.
The judges 2010 for Champion of Champions were Matti Luoso (FIN), Nina Karlsdotter (SWE) and Laurent Pichard (CH). Veteran of Veterans was chosen by Nina Karlsdotter.
The best dogs and bitches from the list of Vuoden koira = The Dog of the Year (Finnish Kennel Club's competition), 125 champions and 75 veterans, were invited.
The judges pre-judged the dogs before the actual competition. Competitions took place as a couple competition. Thara’s couple was a miniature dachshund! The better one of the couple continued to the next round and always the better dog continued to compete until only one couple was left and from these two dogs the judges selected the winner.
Champion competition, all three judges performed one criticism, but the judges did not talk to each other, but to made decisions independently. The judges showed color codes at the same time and the winner of the couple was the dog who got two or three votes to continue the competition. Laurent Pichard voted for Thara but the two other judges voted for the miniature dachshund so the game was over for Thara and me very quickly but I’m very pleased that Laurent Pichard voted for us, the worst would have been that all
three judges would have voted for the miniature dachshund!
